Bristol South Hill Climb, Burrington Combe
Steve Marchant was Swindon's only competitor in this hill climb held on the gradual 2km road of Burrington Combe in the Mendip Hills. This event was also the final event in the WTTA Hardriders series and was Steve's sixth counting event. Steve Marchant finished 4th and with it clinched joint 2nd place in the Hardriders series. Steve had a late start to his racing this season and no doubt if he had ridden some of the earlier Hardriders events he would of challenged for overall victory in the series.

WTTA Hardriders Series Final Results
At the end of a popular and well contested series of events several Swindon Road Club members finished in the final overall results.
Steve Marchant claimed joint 2nd place overall, and 1st veteran. Behind Steve Trevor Sherwood and Chris Broad-Drake both had an outstanding season and produced some excellent results in this varied series of time trials. Trevor and Chris were also very closely matched with Trevor just having the edge finishing 17th overall with Chris 20th. Steve, Trevor and Chris finished as 3rd team which was a good performance against some strong Time Trialling clubs such as Dursley and Severn RC.

Rudy Project Time Trial Series, Round 6
The last national round of the Rudy Project time trial series, took place on the narrow
Hampshire roads around the village of Holt. Marchant, defending champion and current
series leader had a close fight on his hands. Closest challenger Geoff Platts (Team
Clean), in brilliant form after a holiday riding the French Alpine roads, needed to beat
Marchant by two places to claim the title. Blustery winds, damp roads, and tight bends
made for challenging conditions, but all the riders made it safely round the two-lap
course. After lap 1, Platt, who had started two minutes in front, had a 10 second
advantage over Marchant. Marchant managed to hang on and record a finishing time of 42:40,
taking 2nd place behind Platt (42.30). Jake Prior (Andover Wheelers) was third in 42.59.
Marchant's 2nd place saw him claiming the title for a second year running.
