Darren
Beers, who set up the team, said “I was very pleased with today’s event,
especially with the mix of riders – all the local clubs were represented. This is an exciting venture for me. I look after a large number of local cyclists
at my sports injury clinic and setting up the team is a fun way to give
something back, whilst increasing awareness of my business in the local
area”. Darren also works as a sports
massage therapist for Swindon Town and Portsmouth Football Clubs.
Grant Bayton said “It’s great to
see a new local event organised - and on such a hard course. I look forward to
defending my title next year!”
The team will be turning out for their first open event on
Sunday 8 October when they ride the Chippenham and
District Wheelers 24 mile 3 Up Time Trial.

trophy to Grant Bayton. Also presented was
the Dirty Rascal prize to the last rider to finish!
